If an incident occurs, remain calm, listen to the directions of our staff, and assist others if you can do so safely.

3. What to Do in Case of an Emergency
A. If an Incident Occurs:
- Alert Your Guide Immediately:
- Inform your guide or on-site KMS Travel representative as soon as you notice any problem—be it a minor accident, health issue, or security concern.
- Assess the Situation:
- If it is a minor issue (a small injury, a lost personal item), follow any immediate first-aid instructions provided.
- For major incidents, your guide will contact local emergency services immediately using the numbers provided above.
- Follow the Established Protocol:
- In Santiago (or other areas directly managed by KMS Travel), your guide is your first point of contact.
- In other destinations managed by local providers, follow the local provider’s instructions and stay in communication with KMS Travel via the provided emergency number.
B. Important Actions:
- Do Not Leave Your Group:
Stay with your guide and fellow travelers, especially if you are in an unfamiliar area. - Provide Clear Information:
When contacting emergency services, offer a brief description of your location, the nature of the emergency, and any known hazards. - Wait for Assistance:
If help is on the way, remain where you are unless instructed otherwise by your guide or emergency personnel.
4. Handling Specific Situations
A. Medical Emergency:
- Immediate Action:
Your guide will assess the situation and, if necessary, provide first aid from our on-hand kit. If the injury is serious, they will call for immediate medical assistance. - Insurance Reminder:
Please remember that all clients are covered under our comprehensive travel insurance. If you incur a medical issue, the necessary assistance will be coordinated through our insurance partners. - Your first step regarding insurance is to contact the company where you purchased your personal insurance, or reach out to us for assistance. Then, notify KMS Travel to activate third-party insurance, if applicable.
B. Lost or Stolen Items:
- Report Immediately:
Notify your guide or local provider right away if anything is lost or stolen. They will help you contact the appropriate local authorities and file a report. - Personal Responsibility:
While we take every precaution, we advise you to secure your valuables at all times.
C. Minor Incidents:
- Document and Inform:
If you experience a minor incident (such as a small injury or near-miss) please inform your guide. A record of all incidents is maintained to ensure continuous improvement in our safety protocols.
5. Additional Tips
- Be Prepared:
Ensure you know the location of the nearest exit, and familiarize yourself with your surroundings once you arrive at each destination. - Stay Connected:
Keep your mobile phone charged and with you at all times. Inform someone in your group if you need to step away in case of an emergency. - Emergency Meeting Points:
Your guide will inform you of designated meeting points in the event of an evacuation or if the group is temporarily separated.
By following these procedures and adhering to the guidance of our trained staff, you help ensure a safe and enjoyable travel experience with KMS Travel. Your safety is our utmost concern, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
