Arrive at Punta Arenas Airport, welcome and transfer to your hotel. At 15:00 city tour of Punta Arenas. Discover the special charm of this extreme city, which was shaped by the Strait of Magellan with the contribution of various cultures leaving a valuable historical and cultural legacy with traditions that endure to this day. Its population descends mainly of Croatian, Spanish, Italian, German, and English immigrants and families from Chiloé Island (south of Chile). Our tour begins with a visit to Cerro Mirador, where we can get a panoramic view of the city and the Strait of Magellan. Along with it, we will visit main streets and avenues, along with various monuments, as well as having the possibility of visiting the Maggiorino Borgatello Museum, a place of great patrimonial value that keeps a great ethnological and natural history exhibition with a varied collection of flora specimens and fauna present in the Region of Magallanes, handicrafts from the Yaganes, Onas, Alacalufes people and register on the way of life of the first settlers. The tour concludes in the Muñoz Gamero main square.
Breakfast. At 6:00 AM approx pick up for a half-day excursion to Magdalena Island. Early in the morning, we start with this unparalleled adventure, after checking in at our office, we head to Laredo Bay to board speedboats, we navigate 45 minutes to Magdalena Island, where we stay for 1 hour with our guide to know the natural habitat of the Magellanic Penguins in the largest colony of South America. We continue our journey to Isla Marta to see sea lions, imperial cormorants and hundreds of southern gulls. Then we return to the pier and to Punta Arenas. Depending on the luck we will be able to see Austral Dolphins and Toninas Overa.
Transfer to Punta Arenas bus station and bus to Puerto Natales. Transfer from Puerto Natales bus station to the hotel.
Breakfast. At 7:30 approx, pick up for an excursion to Torres del Paine National Park. Departure from your hotel to Milodón’s Cave located 24 kilometres north of Puerto Natales. Before reaching the cave, the access road passes through the “Silla del Diablo”, a name that comes from the popular imagination given to a rocky structure with the appearance of an armchair which is said to have been the “seat of the devil”. We continue along the access road to the Torres del Paine National Park, where we can observe lagoons and mountain ranges along the way. Next, it is possible to admire the beautiful landscape that surrounds us from the Grey Lagoon viewpoint with a view towards the Grey Glacier, the Macizo del Paine and the Lago del Toro, a couple of kilometres later it is possible to observe the Cuernos del Paine, just before arriving at the bifurcation that takes us towards the Lago Grey area. once in this sector we can take a pleasant walk along the shore of Grey Lake. In a restaurant located inside the park, we’re going to have a moment of rest with the option to have lunch (extra cost).
At the end of this restful break, we begin the second stage of our visit to the Torres del Paine National Park, heading to the Salto Grande sector. We will visit the viewpoint of Lake Nordenskjold and continue enjoying diverse views in our wavy route that brings us little by little to the sector of Laguna Amarga. After admiring this pleasant spectacle, we will return to Puerto Natales passing by the Lago Sarmiento viewpoint.
Breakfast. At 7:30 approx, pick for an excursion to glaciers Balmaceda & Serrano.
The boat begins its navigation on the Señoret Canal, heading northwest towards Mount Balmaceda while enjoying breakfast on board. Our first point of interest will be the Frories Bories National Historical Monument, founded in 1913 by the Exploitation Society Tierra del Fuego. It was the most important slaughter centre in the area for more than 60 years. It stands out for its post-Victorian English industrial architecture and masonry construction. Going through the Señoret canal, we head towards Guanaco Island where we can see the small and wonderful Magellan Dolphins (Toninas). Then we access through the Estancia Margot to the Wall of Cormorants where a large number of these birds are exhibited ventilating their wings extended to the wind. Continued the trip to Punta de Lobos where we found some examples of said mammal. Then we visit the Cascade and cliffs where we can see condors. At each point of interest, the boat will stop for passengers to enjoy the scenery and attractions. The trip continues to Mount Balmaceda (2035 meters of altitude) where we can appreciate the glacier of the same name and then we will disembark in Puerto Toro to begin the one-hour trek around the shore of the Témpanos lagoon, accompanied by our bilingual guide. Through a native forest of coihues, ñirres and ciruelillos, towards the Serrano glacier, we will enjoy the fascinating vegetation, the contrast between a clear sky and ice of the imposing Serrano glacier. After having witnessed a unique, wild and virgin landscape we finished our navigation when we arrived in Puerto Natales.
Breakfast and check out. Transfer to Puerto Natale’s bus station and bus to Punta Arenas Airport.
