This Elqui Valley tour offers a refined introduction to one of northern Chile’s most distinctive regions, where pisco, village traditions, mountain landscapes and some of the clearest skies on earth come together in a remarkably coherent travel experience. Designed for premium travelers seeking more than scenery alone, the program combines cultural depth, local flavor and carefully chosen moments of discovery, rest and observation. Over 3 days and 2 nights, this Elqui Valley tour connects places such as Villaseca, Guayacan, Cochiguaz, Pisco Elqui, Montegrande and Vicuña, offering a short but meaningful immersion in the character of the valley.
The Elqui Valley is often introduced through astronomy, but its real richness lies in the way clear skies, local culture, historic traditions and a strong sense of place all meet within the same landscape. This program is built around that broader interpretation, combining solar-cooked cuisine in Villaseca, craft beer in Guayacan, time in the peaceful upper valley around Cochiguaz, and meaningful encounters with the pisco-making tradition that has shaped this part of Chile for generations.
That wider perspective also gives special weight to visits such as Montegrande and Vicuña. The presence of Gabriela Mistral is part of the cultural memory of the valley rather than a decorative reference, while the pisco world belongs to a broader Chilean Pisco Vine and Wine Cultural Landscape that Chile has presented on UNESCO’s Tentative List. In that sense, this Elqui Valley tour is not only about stargazing or scenic roads, but about understanding a destination through its flavors, heritage, landscapes and atmosphere. It is a compact journey, yet one that reveals the valley with unusual depth and balance.
We will arrive at La Serena Airport no later than noon. Reception and start of the journey into the Elqui Valley. Along the way, we will enjoy the valley’s landscapes while learning about the rich history and culture of the region.
Our first stop will be Villaseca, a picturesque village famous for its solar cookers. Here, we will enjoy a unique lunch prepared entirely with solar energy, featuring local dishes made with sustainable techniques.
In the afternoon, we will continue to the town of Diaguitas, home to the renowned Guayacan craft brewery. There, we will tour the brewery, learn about its beer-making process, and taste different varieties.
In the evening, we will transfer to Pisco Elqui and check in at Hotel El Tesoro de Elqui at around 6:00 p.m., where we will be welcomed with a traditional pisco sour and a delicious dinner. To end the day, we will enjoy a relaxing astronomical sound therapy experience that invites us to connect with the stars.

After a rich buffet breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we will begin the day’s tour at 9:00 a.m. with a route through Cochiguaz, a place known for its mystical energy and peaceful landscapes.
We will visit the Buddhist Enlightenment Stupa, where we will enjoy a unique cultural and spiritual experience while learning about Buddhism and the serenity of the place. Later, we will make a brief stop at the Cochiguaz River, where we will have time for a swim.
At noon, we will explore ancient petroglyphs, traces of the first cultures that inhabited the Elqui Valley, and then return to Pisco Elqui for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Los Nichos Distillery, the first distillery in the country. There, we will tour this historic site, learn about the production of pisco, and taste some of its varieties.
We will then continue to Montegrande to visit the Gabriela Mistral House School Museum, a place dedicated to the life and work of the Chilean poet. We will finally arrive in Vicuña at approximately 6:00 p.m. and check in at Hotel Terral.
After settling in at the hotel, we will transfer to the Alfa Aldea Astronomical Center, where we will enjoy a memorable astronomical dinner with a local family, followed by night observation through professional telescopes. At the end of the experience, we will return to Hotel Terral to rest.

After breakfast, we will be able to enjoy the hotel facilities until noon and then check out. At the agreed time, private transport will take us to La Serena Airport.
