Sample Itinerary (based on a W program of 4 nights / 5 days. Ask for 5 and 6 night options)

Day 1 – Puerto Natales – Torres del Paine

The W Circuit is the most famous trekking trail in Torres del Paine and includes hiking in 3 mountain valleys and the most epic lookouts and attractions in the park. You will see Las Torres, Los Cuernos (“The Horns”), Paine Grande and the Grey Glacier. Although the trail is physically challenging and immersed in nature, you will enjoy comfortable beds, hot showers, hearty meals, and supplies from our kiosks.

Today you will take the bus from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine National Park. The trip takes about 2 1/2 hours (70 mi.). You will arrive in the park in the afternoon and have time for dinner before spending the night in the Central Sector.

Accommodation in a camp, mountain lodge or hotel.

Day 2 – Hike to Las Torres Base Lookout Point – 12 miles / 19,5 kms

The day begins with a slow ascent through the Patagonian Pampas, becoming steeper as you enter the Ascencio Valley until you reach the Los Vientos Pass – with spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and lakes. You will continue hiking past the Chileno Mountain Hostel and through a native lenga forest before approaching the final stretch of your adventure. This part of the hike takes about an hour and is over rocky terrain lined with huge boulders. At the end, you will be rewarded with an awe-inspiring view of the three iconic granite towers and the glacial lagoon. Later you will begin the descent to the Central Sector for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation in camping, mountain lodge or hotel.

Day 3 – Hike Cuernos or French Sector – 7,5 miles (Cuernos) or 9,5 miles (French) / 12 kms (Cuernos) or 15 kms (French)

As you hike along the serene shores of Lake Nordenskjöld, at the base of the magnificent Almirante Nieto and its hanging glaciers, you will be drawn to the beauty of these enormous peaks overlooking the turquoise lake below, and will want to capture the incredible scenery in a photograph forever. The lake is surrounded by amazing geographical contrasts and is home to many birds, so we recommend keeping an eye out for condors overhead. You will then continue along the Arriero River, which offers great places to relax and refill your bottle with fresh running water. Once you reach the highest viewpoint, you will be able to see the lake in all its glory and the French Glacier hanging from the Paine Grande mountain. You will have dinner and sleep in the French or Cuernos sector.

Accommodation in camping, cabins or mountain lodge.

Day 4 – Hike Francés Valley – 10 miles / 16 kms

The day begins with a beautiful hike in the Francés Valley. Along the way you will enjoy the peace and quiet of pure nature, surrounded by majestic mountain peaks and feel completely immersed in the wild vegetation. You will enjoy the silence of the forests and the glacial streams where you can fill your bottle with pure, fresh water. And you will marvel at the majesty of the Los Cuernos mountain range. The grand finale of this trek is like no other, a viewpoint with an incredible view of the Francés Glacier and the rest of the Paine Massif. After this spectacle, you will begin the descent to the Paine Grande Sector.

Accommodation in camping or mountain lodge.

Day 5 – Hike Grey Glacier Sector – Pehoé Lake Navigation – 7 miles / 11 kms. Return to Puerto Natales

On the last part of this amazing trekking circuit, the trail undulates between rocky areas and native forests that are home to many species of birds. Walking along the base of the park’s highest mountain, Paine Grande (3,050mt / 10,000ft), the nonstop views of hanging glaciers spilling over the mountaintop will feel somewhat surreal. Leaving the tree cover, you’ll reach the first lookout over Lake Grey and slowly start to see more and more pieces of floating glacier. The bigger they get, the smaller you will feel. Finally you will see the breathtaking view of Grey Glacier in all its glory. At the end of your adventure, you will return to the Paine Grande Sector and take the catamaran to the Pudeto Sector. There you will meet the bus that will take you back to Puerto Natales.
