The Lakes and Volcanoes district in Chile is a spectacular zone full of lakes, rivers and volcanoes. It is especially great for adventure activities such as hiking, kayaking, fly fishing, mountain biking and much more. In this classic program enjoy Puerto Varas, Chiloé Island and the beauties of the zone.

Day 1 – Puerto Montt Airport – Puerto Varas

Arrive at El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt, welcome and transfer to your hotel in Puerto Varas. Free afternoon to discover Puerto Varas by walking by yourself.

Day 2 – Petrohué and Osorno Volcano

Breakfast. At 9:00 approx pick up for a full-day excursion to Petrohué Waterfalls and Osorno Volcano. We begin our tour from Puerto Varas city, “The City of Roses” going to Osorno Volcano, by the shore of Llanquihue lake. We’ll enjoy the Amazing landscape with the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes until we get to Ensenada where the road starts to ascend until arrive at the Osorno Volcano Mountain and Ski Centre, located at 1240 mts of altitude. Here you will have time to take pictures, enjoy the landscape and admire the view of the top of the volcanoes with the glaciers of eternal snow, As an option, you can go to the restaurant to take a cup of coffee or a delicious hot chocolate, or to take the chairlift to go up (not included, payment at the place).

Later we will go to Petrohue at Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, on a road by the Llanquihue lakeshore, enjoying the landscape and magnificent view of the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes until we get to Petrohue located nearby “Todos Los Santos Lake”, here we will take a soft walk on the trails surrounded by an evergreen forest. After paying an entrance, once inside the park we will appreciate one of the most beautiful places in this region, the “Petrohue River Falls”, a place where the Petrohue River hit large masses of crystallized lava formed with smaller rocks united by a glassy material that stands out, an unmissable place. From there we continue a distance of about 5 km, from the slopes of Osorno Volcano and Petrohue bordering the River to the “Todos Los Santos” lake, where you can take pictures or board a vessel that allows you, in about 40 minutes, sail through it and enjoy the view (extra cost).

Day 3 – Chiloé Island

Breakfast. At 8:30 approx, pick up for an excursion to Chiloé Island. We begin the tour going to Pargua at the south of Puerto Varas city, here we will board a ferry to sail the Chacao Channel, this channel separates the continent of Chiloe Island. The ferry berths at Chacao pier, where we will take the route that will take us to the Ancud city, where we can meet the San Antonio Fort, the Local Churches Heritage Foundation, the Main Square, and the Central Market.

We continue our trip to Dalcahue, this city is located in front of Quinchao Island and along the coast there is a Gastronomic Market made up of “palafito”, this is built over the water in a base of wood, here you will enjoy a spectacular view and also you can walk to visit the local church that is a typical construction and is a World Heritage Site. Later we continue our trip to Castro, the capital of Chiloé Island, having time to take pictures at Manuel Montt palafitos, visit the San Francisco Church in front of the main square and visit the traditional Gamboa viewing point where you can take very nice pictures of the worldwide famous palafitos.

Day 4 – Puerto Varas – Puerto Montt Airport

Breakfast and check out. Transfer to Puerto Montt, El Tepual Airport.
