Puerto Varas is located at the beginning of the northern Chilean Patagonia, in the Lakes District which includes Llanquihue Lake, Cochamó Valley, Llanada Grande Valley, Chiloé Island and the beginning of the Austral Road to Hornopirén. All this area is composed of extraordinary landscapes, forests, lakes, rivers, sea, volcanoes and fields, as well as rich culture with Huilliches origins, marked by the Spanish arrival in the sixteenth century and by the German colonization in 1850. Puerto Varas is a destination that has two extraordinary conditions:

A very good hotel infrastructure, gastronomic options and excellent roads and airports make the city perfect as an operation centre.
And at the same time offers more remote places that are still virgin enough to take more direct and intense contact with nature.

The Open Water Swimming Program in Chile is focused on all people who like to learn about local culture, and enjoy sports (especially swimming), local culture, nature and amazing landscapes. We propose a 7-day program with a base in Puerto Varas and Ensenada, to go to different virgin and stunning places for open water SWIMMING.

Day 1 – Puerto Varas

Arrival to Puerto Montt. Transfer from El Tepual Airport Puerto Montt to Hotel in Puerto Varas. Check-in at 15:00. Free afternoon.

Day 2 – Maullín – El Pangal Beach (Sea) (12°-14°C)

Breakfast
8:00 Pick up from hotel and transfer of 2 hours to El Pangal Beach in Maullín, through an attractive internal route
10:30 Swim 2.5 km
13:00 Lunch at Maullín local market
16:00 Swim 2.5 km
18:00 Transfer from El Pangal Beach to Las Cascadas Lodge. Arrival at 20:30 approx

Day 3 – Tagua Tagua Lake (13°-15°C)

8:00 Pick up from the hotel and transfer to Tagua Tagua Lake (2.5 hours)
10:30 Navigation to Punta Maldonado beach
11:30 Swim 2.5 kms
13:30 Lunch at Mitico Puelo Lodge
15:00 Navigation to Punta Canelo sector
16:00 Swim 2.5 km
18:00 Return to Las Cascadas Lodge. Arrival at 20:30 approx

Day 4 – Rupanco Lake (13°-16°C)

Breakfast
8:30 Pick up from the hotel and transfer to Rupanco Lake (1 hour)
10:30 Swim 2.5 km
13:00 Box lunch
15:30 Swim 2.5 km
17:30 Return to Las Cascadas Lodge. Arrival at 18:30 approx

Day 5 – Llanquihue Lake – Puerto Octay Zone (13°-15°C)

Breakfast
8:30 Pick up from the hotel and transfer to Puerto Octay (1 hour)
10:30 Swim 2.5 km
13:00 Lunch at a local restaurant in Puerto Octay
15:30 Swim 2.5 km
17:30 Return to Las Cascadas Lodge. Arrival at 18:30 approx

Day 6 – Todos los Santos Lake (13°-15°C)

Breakfast
8:00 Pick up from the hotel and transfer to Petrohué (1 hour). Navigation 15 minutes to El Rincón Beach.
10:00 Swim 2.5 km
13:00 Lunch at a local restaurant at Petrohué Waterfalls. Entrance fee included.
15:00 Return to Todos Los Santos Lake and navigation to Cayetué Beach.
16:00 Swim 2.5 km
18:00 Return to Las Cascadas Lodge. Arrival at 19:00 approx

Day 7 – Ensenada – Puerto Montt Airport

Breakfast
Optional soft swim at Las Cascadas Lodge beach at Llanquihue Lake.
At the designated time pick up from the hotel and transfer to El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt.

Private transfer Airport in Puerto Montt / Hotel in Puerto Varas / Airport in Puerto Montt.
1 night at Hotel Casa Kalfu 3* SUP in Puerto Varas, with breakfast included.
5 nights at Lodge Las Cascadas 3* SUP (25 km. north Ensenada), with breakfast included.
Private Van or Minibus for 5 days with a driver, 1 guide + and 1 assistant (from 8 or more passengers).
One motor support boat in every swimming spot with a local person in charge of guiding it + 2 kayaks to be guided by the tour leaders.
After swimming snack (Coffee, tea, water, cakes, pastries)
Lunch included during days 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 either in a local restaurant or a box lunch.
Tour guiding each day during transportation to each swimming spot.

Prices are NET per person in USD. Any modification on the number of passengers, the program must be quoted again.
Prices and services are subject to availability at the moment of confirmation.
Swimming spots and navigations are subject to change in case of weather conditions, especially strong wind.

KMS Travel has no liability for delays or date changes produced by weather conditions, negligence, mechanical problems or other forcé majeur circumstances derivate from third parties.
Services don’t include anything not mentioned as included on the program like early check-in, late check out, gratuities, personal expenses, etc.

Payment and Cancelation Policies

Payment 50% at the moment of confirmation and 50% 45 days before arrival.
The program allows cancellations with the following conditions:
- Cancellations 45 days before the arrival date, 100% will be refunded.
- Cancellations with less than 45 days before the arrival date, no refund.

Payment methods: Bank transfer, credit card.

In case of payment with a credit card issued outside Chile, applies an extra 3,9% over the total amount.
In case of payment with an international bank transfer, all costs and charges must be paid by the customer (OUR transfer code)
