OVERLAND EXPEDITION TIERRA DEL FUEGO CHILE & ARGENTINA (9D-8N)

Arrive in Punta Arenas on a flight before 12:00. Pick up at the airport and depart to Tierra del Fuego (alternatively, you can fly the day before and stay in Punta Arenas).

The trip to Tierra del Fuego from Punta Arenas is an adventure in itself and takes place sailing the first narrows (a crossing only 20 minutes by ferry) passing through Estancia San Gregorio, which is one of the oldest estancias (ranches) in the area, and through Cerro Sombrero, the island’s oil and gas centre. We also pass by Estancia San Clemente Penguin Colony where we will see King Penguins.

Breakfast. Today we will visit the famous Fagnano Lake, a binational lake shared with Argentina that on the Chilean side is called Cami Lake. We will also visit Caleta María to do full-day navigation through the Almirantazgo Sound, Parry Fjord and its New Zealand Glacier. Return to the lodge.

Breakfast. In the morning we will have spectacular trekking through a circuit in Laguna del Cura, belonging to Estancia Tres Lagunas, which includes 2,000 hectares of lenga forest with amazing fauna. In the afternoon, walk to Blanco Lake and Valle Castores.

Return to the lodge. Box lunch during the excursion and dinner at the lodge included.

Breakfast. Beginning of the full-day excursion to Despreciado Lake and Deseado Lake. It is an experience through the Cordillera Fueguina range that allows you to access the most remote landscapes of Tierra del Fuego. We will have the chance of spotting condors while trekking along the Despreciado Lake trail to the peat bogs.

Return to the lodge. Box Lunch during the excursion and dinner at the lodge included.

Breakfast. Today we will have a horse ride in the morning that will remain forever in your memory. We will visit the Estancia Tres Lagunas where we will do a circuit that will allow you to appreciate the Fuegian landscapes from another perspective. If we are lucky, we can see Baguales, the wild, feral horses of Patagonia. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon we will rest at the lodge where you can enjoy it or take walks in its surroundings.

Breakfast. Today we will have a great fishing day in Blanco Lake, famous for its high chances of catching large amounts of Fario, Rainbow and Fontinalis trouts. The landscape of Blanco Lake will allow not only a great fishing day but also a high-level connection with nature.

Return to the lodge. Box lunch during the excursion and dinner at the lodge included.

Blanco Lake – Ushuaia (4 hours)

Breakfast and check out. Today we will cross Tierra del Fuego on the Argentine side. The trip itself is quite an excursion because the beauty of the landscape will leave you speechless. We cross the Bellavista Pass, just 15 minutes from the lodge, and then pass in front of the most famous and oldest estancias in Argentine Patagonia: Maria Bethy and Estancia la Primera Argentina to finally arrive in Ushuaia. Free afternoon to explore the city.

Accommodation at Lennox Hotel or similar with breakfast included.

Breakfast and check out. Today we will have a full-day excursion to the main landmarks near Ushuaia. Visit Estancia Harberton, the first settlement of white men in Tierra del Fuego, the birthplace of Lucas Bridges´family, the first English settler in Tierra del Fuego and a National Monument. Lunch is included at the estancia. After this unforgettable experience, we will return to Chile to Tierra del Fuego Lodge.

Return to the hotel and have dinner.

Breakfast and check out. Today we will return to Punta Arenas after a wonderful experience in one of the most remote places in the world.

Box lunch is included on the route. We will drop you off in a place to be defined in Punta Arenas.
