Shared Excursion to Magdalena Island AM or PM – 5:00 hours: Los Pingüinos Natural Monument is located thirty-five kilometers northeast of Punta Arenas in the Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica. It is a protected area for wildlife, such as the Magellanic penguin, Dominican gull, the black-browed albatross and the imperial cormorant. At the southwestern end of the island, there are one and two-haired sea lions. As for flora, the island’s vegetation is scarce, making for wide, spacious views.

While sailing through the Strait of Magellan, your guide will inform us about the area in English and Spanish. Puma Tracking Excursion – Seeking the Footsteps of the Pumas: Our service, just like the puma, moves with the light of day. In the morning, we will pick you up at your accommodation or meeting point before dawn. The time depends on the time of year and the location of your accommodation. We will start tracking at the Torres del Paine National Park, which is mainly done in a vehicle, with occasional short walks, always by established and public trails.
The excursion takes place in the eastern part of the park and is designed to be flexible; there is no fixed route, as our guides determine the places to visit day by day, depending on the behaviour of the animals and climatic conditions. At noon, a break is made to eat and rest. Between 3 and 4 hours later, the tour is restarted to continue with the search until sunset. As the search for felines develops, the guides will show impressive landscapes and different species of birds and mammals present.
Are sightings guaranteed?
Cannot be guaranteed. Pumas are wild animals living freely in Torres del Paine. We strive to provide an unforgettable search experience. We cannot control their behaviour, so there is always the possibility of not achieving a sighting or perfect photography.
